Creating a table style in Word 2007 / 2010
Word 2007 contains many table styles that can be applied to a table.
1. Insert a table (Insert Tab?table)
2. From the Table Styles gallery, select a style
3. Use the More button to select additional styles.

If a suitable style is not found, a custom style can be created.
1. From the Table Styles gallery, select the More button.
2. From the bottom of the menu select New Table Style
3. Enter a name for the new style e.g. My Table Style
4. Apply the required formatting to the table by
a. Selecting the element of the table to apply formatting to e.g. Whole Table, Header Row, Odd Banded Rows etc.
b. Apply formatting
5. Additional formatting can be applied by clicking the Format Button and selecting the required formatting type
6. For example, to change the cell margins and vertical alignment
a. Click the Format Button and select Table Properties
b. Select the Cell tab and then click the Options button

c. Un-tick the Same As The Whole Table and enter the values for Top, Bottom, Left & Right. Click OK.
d. For vertical alignment, select Top, Centre or Bottom from the Cell tab of the Table properties dialog box. Click OK.
7. You new table style will appear in the Custom section of the Table Gallery.
8. To further modify this style or to delete it, right click over the style in the Gallery and select Modify or Delete.
